Match Report: Clermiston 0-1 Ratho Athletic
Ratho Athletic secured a vital three points on the road with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Clermiston in a tightly contested Premiership encounter.
The game kicked off with both teams struggling to create clear chances on a difficult pitch, making it hard to play free-flowing football. A balanced first half saw few opportunities, and the teams went into the break at 0-0.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Ratho Athletic having two strong penalty shouts waved away by the referee. However, persistence paid off in the final 10 minutes when Ally McRitchie was played in wide, delivering a low cross that found Scott Aitken, who finished clinically to secure the winner.
Ratho saw out the closing moments professionally to claim a well-earned three points, lifting the team back up to 6th place in the league.
Co-Manager David Whelan praised the squad’s performance, saying:
“Great performance from the boys, should have been out of sight in the first half. Everyone in the squad did their part, and even the lads who didn’t make the team. A well-deserved three points.”
